From calcining a natural dolomitic limestone, Calcined Dolomite or Flux Dolomite is formed. It contains high levels of Magnesium Oxide. It is majorly used in soils and gardens.

Our Process

Categorizing: The Dolomite extracted from mines undergoes the process of crushing. The Dolomite is categorized as per the various sizes desired. Our Process requires Size 40-80 MM Dolomite.

Calcinating: The sized Dolomite is then input in the kiln alongwith coal that is burnt. It is further heated to convert to Dololime. There are two stages involved in the process of calcinations:

  • Calcining -In the kiln, the heat turns the dolomite into dololime ana carbon dioxide (CO2). The reaction can be well depicted as under: CaCO3 + MgCO3 = CaO . MgO The process of calcinations is a continuous process. The Dolomite is manually fed, mixed with the calcining fuel, in this case being steam coal, in appropriate quantity. The Kiln has three zones, Top Zone being pre-heating zone, Centre being Calcining Zone and Bottom Zone being Cooling Zone. Dolomite is heated at 800C to get Calcined Dololime, also known as Burnt Dololime. The process takes 3 Days and is continuous in nature, i.e., Dolomite that is feeded today in the Vertical Shaft Kiln, comes out from the Discharge Section after 3 days, as Finished Product, Calcined Dolomite.
  • Cooling As the Dololime moves through the calcining zone, it gets cooled down as the cooling air passes by.

Sorting and Packaging: The Dololime so produced is sorted and packed into 30 kg bags or 1 MT Bags as desired by clients.
